Arminda “Minnie” Vega Jaramillo, 77, of San Benito, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Sunshine Haven in Olmito, Texas. She was born March 22, 1939 to José and Angelita Vega. Minnie was a generous person and a devoted animal lover. She loved helping and singing with others, and her doors were always open to anyone in need. She retired from the San Benito School District in 2001. She was a devout catholic all her life and a devout parishioner and volunteer at St. Theresa Catholic Church where she was a Sacred Heart Society member. She was preceded in death by her parents: José and Angelita Vega; husband: Hector G. Jaramillo; sister: Ofelia V. Medrano; brothers: José Luis, José Angel, Mike, Augustin and Pablo Vega She is survived by her daughters: Melissa (Jorge Rodriguez) Jaramillo, Mari (Sylvia) Jaramillo and Joan (George) Rodriguez; her companion: Tony Vasquez; siblings: Beatriz V. Moody, Virginia V. Luna, Irma V. Brady, and Lucia V. Weaver; grandchildren: Jacqueline Salazar, Jacob Hernandez, James Gracia, AJ Gracia, Agustin “AB” Flores, Ethan Rodriguez; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Divine Mercy Chaplet at 6:15 pm and a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church in San Benito, Texas. Cremation will follow in accordance to her wishes.
