Ester Holland Garza, 87, of Port Isabel, Texas entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 9, 2016 in Harlingen, Texas. Ester was a lifelong resident of Port Isabel, Texas and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her spouse; her parents, John and Maria Lopez Holland; her sister, Dora Holland Sanchez; and her brother, Samuel Holland. Surviving her are her seven children: Rene (Rose) Gonzalez, Armando (Mary Lou) Gonzalez, Irma (Rodolfo) Garza, Maria Estella (David) Garza, Patricia (Joe) Alvarez, Juan (Maria) Gonzalez, Jr., and Jesus (Socorro) Gonzalez; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two siblings, Margarita Torres and Johnny Holland. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St in Port Isabel, Texas. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
