Cecilia C. “Shila” Zamora, 68 born April 10, 1948 and raised in Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on June 30, 2016 at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Cecilia was a lifetime residence of Port Isabel and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She was a fulltime mom and dad who loved caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Carlos Cantu Sr.; one son; one brother, Joey Cantu; three sisters: Linda Ray Cantu, Laurie Cantu and Maria Magdalena Vasquez; and son-in-law, Ray Barrientez. Cecilia is survived by her loving mother, Veronica C. Cantu; her loving children: Gloria Z. Barrientez, Rosa Z. Mora, Ricardo Zamora III, Israel C. Zamora and Jose Santos (Lupita) Zamora, Sr.; brothers: Thomas Cantu, Carlos Cantu Jr., Jesus Cantu, Jose Guadalupe Cantu,, Andy Cantu, Roberto Cantu, Felipe Cantu, Jimmy Cantu, Fred Cantu; sisters: Veronica Malvar and Rosario Salazar; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 01, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St. in Port Isabel, Texas. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
