Maria C. Nuñez, 93, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at her residence in San Benito, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix L. Nuñez; daughter, Hilda Y. Gonzalez; one great grandson, Matthew Amaya; siblings; Teofila Zapata, Luz Elva Perez, Otilia Treviño, Alberto Cardona; son-in-law’s: Mario E. Gonzales and Frank Gonzales Jr. Maria is survived by her children: Rosa (Manuel) Ruiz, Harry (Gloria) Nuñez, Ofelia Reyna, Mary I. Gonzales, Leticia (Lou) Quiroga, Bertha (Elias) Ybarra, Polly N. Gonzales; grandchildren: Mario E. Gonzales Jr., Marcos Gonzales, Sergio Nuñez, Michael Gonzales, Amanda Y. Cornelio, Sonia Y. Martinez, Monica I. Fitting, Manuel Reyna IV, Saul S. Gonzalez, Dora L. Amaya, Elisa Y. Tipton, Javier D. Ruiz, Ruby M. Gonzales, Jeffrey Nuñez, Veronica Rodriguez, Robert E. Quiroga, Elias Ybarra Jr., Samantha R. Gonzales, Selina Nuñez, Lindsey N. Quiroga; 48 great grandchildren, one great great-grandchild; one brother, Jose Angel Cardona; one sister, Amelia Pecina. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016, with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae Garza Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
