Elma Hilda Alfaro, of Rio Hondo, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 in Harlingen, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Vicenta Guajardo; and paternal in-laws, Genaro, Jr. and Ciria Alfaro. She is survived by her husband, Roberto Alfaro; daughter, Melinda Alfaro; her chihuahua, Alexis Marie Alfaro; siblings: Estela Moore, Jesus Guajardo, Jr., Ramiro Guajardo, and Ernesto Guajardo; and in-laws: Antonia Flores, Josefina Herrera, Guadalupe Cortez, Olga Ortega, Corina Alfaro, and Hector Alfaro; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Rio Hondo, Texas. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers: Jesus Guajardo III, Ramiro Guajardo Jr, Eric Guajardo, Israel Ortega, Leonel Sanchez, and Genaro Ortega with Jaime Figueroa serving as an honorary pallbearer.
