Josefa M. Rayos, 78, of Los Fresnos, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at her residence. She was a loving aunt and sister who will be deeply missed. She was always looking over and protecting her siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vicente Rayos; sister, Soledad Martinez; and parents, Ignacio and Juanita G. Mendoza. Josefa is survived by her siblings: Hermelinda Rodriguez, Santos Mendoza, Juan Mendoza, Sr., Angie Cortez, Roberto S. Mendoza, Yolanda M. Garcia, and Jose Luis Mendoza; and 27 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2016 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Los Fresnos. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at RGV State Veterans Cemetery in Mission, Texas.
