Bernardo Sanchez, 78, of Los Fresnos, Texas, passed away on April 23, 2016 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. He was a Los Fresnos native and retired from Los Fresnos CISD in May 2002 after 25 years as a Special Education bus driver. He also worked as an electrician, carpenter, and milk man. He was an active member at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Alcadio Sanchez; his mother, Guadalupe Garza; his brother, Ambrosio Sanchez, Sr.; and his sister, Macaria Galarza. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rosa G. Sanchez of Los Fresnos; a son. Jesus “Eddie” Sanchez; a daughter, Rosanna S. Castillo; three grandchildren: Larissa Castillo, Raynel Castillo, Jr, and Juan Castillo’ one brother, Simon Sanchez of Houston; and three sisters: Marianna Gonzalez of Los Fresnos, Gloria Sanchez, and Georgia Hobbs of Alabama. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Los Fresnos. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Los Cuates Cemetery Military honors will be conducted at graveside by the VFW Post 2035 of Brownsville, Texas.
