Henry Lubbeck, 89, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at his residence. Henry was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and a devoted Catholic. He was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, member of the American Legion Post 498 of Port Isabel and American Legion Post 43 of Brownsville, Texas. He was a WWII Veteran who served the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Henry retired from Southwestern Bell and AT&T Telephone after 33 ½ years of service. He owned and operated H &L Wiring and Henry’s Carwash in Port Isabel. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Janet Lubbeck; one brother, Charles Lubbeck; and parents, Theodore and Adelina Flores Lubbeck. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Josephine Lubbeck; his children: Becky (Arturo) Ortiz, Henry Lubbeck, Jr., Hans Erick Lubbeck, Brenda (Michael) McGehee, Charles (Lynn) Lubbeck, John (Cindy) Lubbeck, Vicky (LeeRoy) Falcon, William (Audy) Lubbeck; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St. in Port Isabel, Texas. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Military honors will be conducted after the mass by American Legion Post 498 and VFW Post 2035 of Brownsville, Texas. Cremation will follow in accordance to his wishes.
