Maria Magdalena Vasquez, 60, of Port Isabel, TX/Grand Rapids, MI, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016 at Spectrum Health in Michigan. She is preceded in death by her father, Carlos Cantu Sr.; one daughter, Erica Vasquez; one brother, Joey Cantu; and two sisters: Linda Ray Cantu and Laurie Cantu. She is survived by her loving husband, Francisco Rolando Vasquez Sr.; one son, Francisco Rolando Vasquez Jr.; two daughters: Linda Ray Hurtado, and Jessica C. Vasquez; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; mother, Veronica C. Cantu; three sisters: Cecila Zamora, Rosario Salazar, and Veronica Malvar; nine brothers: Tomas Cantu, Carlos Cantu Jr., Jesus Cantu, Jose Guadalupe Cantu, Andres Cantu, Roberto Cantu, Santiago Cantu, Felipe Cantu, and Fred Cantu; and several nephews, nieces and aunt. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S Longoria St, Port Isabel, Texas 78578. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
