Rosa Sabina Lopez, 74, of San Benito, went to rest Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 4:48 p.m. at Solara Hospital in Harlingen, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 10, 1941 to the late Andres Angulo and Consuelo Lopez in Tampico, Tamaulipas. Rosa received her bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M and became a bilingual teacher and retired from the Donna School District. She was a devoted Christian and overcame many obstacles in life. Rosa was always a fighter, never giving up till the very end and fought for her life. Raising her children the best that she could by herself wasn’t easy but she always made sure they were cared for. Left with so many loving memories, she will be dearly missed and loved by all who knew her. Rosa is preceded in death by her mother, Consuelo Lopez; daughter, Esmeralda Martinez; sister, Maria Dolores Lopez and granddaughter, Adrian N. Rodriguez. Left to cherish her memories are her two sons: Martin (Maru) Martinez, Andres (Ludy) Angulo, one daughter, Gabriela Rodriguez; seven grandchildren: Andres Angulo Jr., Christopher Angulo, Juan Angulo, Jessica M. Murillo, Jessie Guerrero, Derek Martinez, and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae Garza Funeral Home. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow.
