Dear Kelly's family: I grew up with Kelly - we were in the same class all thru school, graduating from Grapevine High School in 1958.
Kelly was outstanding in so many ways - he was a handsome guy, good athlete and a good friend.
I spoke to Kelly a few years back - and each time a friend of mine was going to South Padre, I would tell them to go by his bar - he always complimented their drinks.
Many wonderful memories of Kelly - God Bless - Sue Franks

Dear Karen and all of Kelly's family,
We all suffer a great loss by the passing of Kelly, but especially you.
What a beautiful human being.
When I arrived on the Island to stay 31 years ago, Kelly was an immediate connection. Having a fondest for what he dispensed, I followed him from place to place as he worked all over the Island. He always made me feel so at home with his warm, genuine smile and friendly words. We all had a ball at his Irish Pub.
I'm so sad. I feel part of me is lost forever, too.
My deepest condolences to you, who lost the most.
What'a guy!

Kelly was in my wife's class of 1958 at Grapevine High and I was class of 1957. He, I and Sherman Millender were closest of friends, constantly together if we weren't on a date and sometimes we tripled dated. He was a great friend and was a groomsman in our wedding party. To my regret it has been many years since we were together. We tried to keep up with him and thought of him often. His old Grapevine friends who are left share in your grief.

I will never forget meeting Kelly when I was 11 years old and working as his bar-back into my teens. He was always fun to hang out with, along with just enough "fatherly" influence to keep me out of trouble, no matter how hard I tried to get into it. Much loved, I will miss him terribly, but always cherish the fact that I had the opportunity to have him as a friend.

He was a fine man, a gentle honest soul, His smile, his kindness and his open loving personality will be missed by so many. I am grateful to have known him for so many years. To his family, please know your sadness is shared by so many that loved him. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. He was one of a kind, the best kind. May he rest in peace, I am sure he is making friends and smiling down on all of us from heaven... with love, Malia

Oh, dear Kelly, rest in peace. I know it's been a hard year. We've all lost a treasured person. I feel truly grateful to have been his employee, co-worker, but mostly friend for so many years of my life. I don't know any person I respect any more than him. He's always been such a lovely example of generosity and kindness. The gentle respect he gave to all around him lead so many to admire and emulate him. He left us such a legacy. I love you, Kelly, and will miss you.

Karen and family,
I am sorry for your loss. Kelly was my cousin. I have fond memories of him. His Mom and my Mom were sisters. We lived in Grapevine where Kelly and his family lived. His old house that he grew up in is across from the First Bapt. church, and I see it every time that I go to church and think of him, Sally, Mitch, and Terry. We lived right down the street from them at one time. I am glad that Kelly found you and enjoyed his life with you. I know that you will miss him, but know that someday you will be with him again. Lots of miles .... lots of memories, cuzzin. We grew up together sharing life. Regrettably, we grew apart as we grew older. Such is life. You're out of pain and in the hands of the Good Lord sharing stories with your dad and mom and all the Doss family. It cannot get much better than that. One day we'll all be together again ... You, Terry, Neal, Roger, ... the rest of us will follow. We can have a grand Doss reunion again and listen to that bunch tell their tales as only they can. Until then, Rest In Peace, Kelly.
Prayers go out to Karen and all your family.
