Daniel was one of the Soldiers that served with and worked for me during our deployment to Iraq in 2005-06. He was a dedicated Soldier, a hard worker and a deep friend to so many. Even on his worst days he carried this contagious spirit with him that could make everything run smoother and burdens feel lighter. Through out my career I have had the honor of leading some of this country's finest men and women and Daniel was certainly one of the best! My prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends! Be very proud of the young man he was because I will personally always be proud of the Soldier he was with me! Longoria, may you rest peacefully with the Lord, you have done good Soldier. Forever Young!

I will have great memories of being your friend and you being my brother. I won't forget you Danny. May you rest in peace and look down on all of those who care for you and love you.
