Obituary of Mathilda Hudson

Port Isabel, Texas: Mathilda "Mackie" Bell Hudson passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Harlingen Medical. She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on December 13, 1928 to William Rex and Maria Bell. She moved to Houston, Texas in 1949 with her husband Willis Isaac Hudson. Together they founded Falcon boats in the early 1960's, which was a predecessor to Shallow Sport Boats. Mackie and Willis retired to Port Isabel, Texas in 1970.
Mackie was a talented and creative artist who could always be found working on her favorite projects. She also enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling. Mackie approached life with a "work is fun" attitude and everything she accomplished was done so with grace and style.
Mackie is preceded in death by her husband Willis Isaac Hudson and her sister Billie Haines. She is survived by her brother Rex Bell, Jr. (Betty Lou), children Rex Hudson (Connie), Maria Perlman (Steve), and Bell Hudson Kindschuh (Jeff ), grandchildren Jessica Stein, Leio Morrison (Gabe), Mackie Jones (Randy), Isaac Mayfield (Courtney), Wes Hudson (Kyra), Maria Hudson, Alex Kindschuh and eight great grandchildren, Koby, Trevor, Lauren, Malia, Audrey, Skye, Aubrie, and Caroline.
Mackie's Celebration of Life will be held October 28, 2011 at Laguna BOB, South Padre Island, Texas at 10:00 am, followed by the spreading of her ashes in the Laguna Madre.
