Joey and I go back to our Rhoades Aviation days flying piston Convairs. He would always call me when he came thru Laredo. I will miss our conversations and laughter. Joey was a true gentleman, mentor to many. When he came to my home, my wife and he would have good talks and laughs. She liked him alot. They were the same age. We shall miss him. God will be good to him, I am sure.

I met Joey in 1978 when he was working at the Patterson airport. I Took him on his first airplane ride. Helped him to get his private license then his seaplane rating then his commercial. He was a great friend for many years. I'm so glad I was in south padre island mid October and we were able to visit briefly. Future annual trips to SPI will not be as sweet. Joey will always be missed. Fair skies and good tailwind bd my friend.
