Jose Cisneros Lopez, 68, of Laguna Vista, Texas, passed away on October 17, 2011 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville. He was a life-long resident of the Laguna Madre area. He was a retired owner and captain of his shrimp boat. He made this world a better place because he was a selfless, full of life, overflowing with love and compassion, respectful, and honoring, quiet man. We are so thankful that God put him in our lives. You are loved and will be missed dearly by all. He was preceded in death by his mother, Manuela C. Lopez and father, Jose R. Lopez Sr. He is survived by his wife, Elida Zamora Lopez of Laguna Vista, Texas; his children: daughter, Norma Lopez (Edward) Flores; son, Jose Zamora (Maria Alicia) Lopez III, and daughter, Priscilla Lopez Gonzalez; three granddaughters, three grandsons, and one great-grandson; his three sisters: Lucilla Lopez, Guadalupe (Sabino) Villarreal, and Eugenia (Guillermo) Torres; and his brother, Manuel (Elvia) Lopez. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church located on 705 S. Longoria St. in Port Isabel. Mass of Resurrection will be held Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 10:00 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Cremation will follow in accordance to his wishes. Pallbearers will be Jose Zamora Lopez III, Sergio Cisneros, Nestor Lopez, Raul Lopez, Robert Zamora, and Jose Santos Zamora. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren: Amanda Lopez Mascari, Eduardo Antonio Flores, Nicolas Adam Flores, Alejandro Luis Flores, Alena Victoria Flores, Elida Jazmine Gonzalez, and great-grandson, Michael Joseph Mascari.
