Asención Rangel, 67, of San Benito, Texas entered into eternal rest on September 25, 2015.
SGT Rangel was a Vietnam Veteran who served the United States Airforce.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Agustin Rangel and Maria Nieves Rangel; and siblings: Reymundo Rangel, Janie Rangel, Ramon Rangel, and Maria del Carmen Rangel.
Surviving him are two sisters, Alicia Rangel and Petra Rangel; and other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae Garza Funeral Home.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 30, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission, Texas with full military honors.
