Juanita B. Garcia, 75, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on September 4, 2015 in Harlingen, Texas. She was a great cook, baker, and known for her lovely eyes. She loved everybody, no one was a stranger to her. Juanita was a lady in every aspect of the word, for she always taught us to live as our Lord commands, by example as she herself lived life, never a bad word towards anyone, always wishing blessings towards all. She is now an Angel in God’s Kingdom, as she was here on Earth to all who knew her. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend who will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Josefa Hernandez Betancourt Sr.; sister, Maria De Jesus Rivera; three brothers: Jose H. Betancourt, Roberto H. Betancourt, and Cesario H. Betancourt. She is survived by her loving husband of over 40 years, Jesus Garcia, Sr.; two sons: Hilario “Larry” (Esmeralda) Martinez and Jesus “Jesse” (Maribel) Garcia, Jr.; three brothers: Guadalupe H. (Maria) Betancourt Jr. of Seminole, Texas; Lorenzo H. Betancourt of Laredo, Texas; and Ramiro H. (Maria) Betancourt of Sweetwater, Texas; one sister, Paula (Dulce N.) Gallegos of Seminole, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 7, 2015 at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Burial will follow at San Benito City Cemetery with members of the family serving as pallbearers.
