Margarito Garcia, Jr, passed away peacefully July 24, 2015 at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. He courageously lived his life never losing his spirit or faith. He was born in San Benito, Texas and proudly served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1954. He was a Paratrooper for the 187th Airborne Division and was assigned to the Kakkasans Blood Group Division and RCT (Regimental Combat Team) during the Korean War in 1951-1952. He is survived by three sons and three daughters: Geronimo, Kimnovah, Norma, Larry and wife Sabrenda, Adolph, and Missy; 15 grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou and Brother Robert; 24 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A celebration and honor of his life will be held Sunday, August 2, 2015 at from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2015 at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Committal service will follow at San Benito City Cemetery.
