Houston/Harlingen,TX-Clayton Paul Schreiner “Rocky”, 92, was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on December 22, 1922 and went to be with our Lord on Friday, July 24, 2015.
Rocky always had several people around him as he would play their favorite tunes on his harmonica at their assisted living home in Lake Jackson, one of his and Pattie favorites was “You are my sunshine, My only sunshine, you make me happy, when skies are grey, you never know dear how much I love you, please don’t take my sunshine away”. Rocky always made you feel special at first sight. During the last year, he struggled with declining dementia which progressed to his terminal restlessness journey before going home. Clayton served in the United States Army during WWII with the 997th signal service battalion earning several decorations and citations such as the American Theater Campaign, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medals with 3 bronze stars good conduct medal, victory ribbon and 3 overseas service bars. He will be deeply missed and always loved.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther F Schreiner and Hattie A. Kuschell; sister, Cleo Deaner; and a brother, Marvin Schreiner.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 66 years, Pattie E. Worley, his son, Mark Schreiner, daughter, Janice (Neel) Wells, grandsons David (Lisa) Pratt and Clay Pratt. Also surviving him is one great grandson Gianni Gomez as well as extended family members.
