Ruth Elizabeth Coots was born on February 1, 1923 and went to be with her Heavenly Father on July 8, 2015 in Houston, Texas. She was 92. She lived most of her life in San Benito before moving to Houston in 1998. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed doing crosswords, family tree ancestry, calls and letters from family and friends, and looking at pictures of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing Dominoes and Scrabble with her daughter Laura and great grandson Kenny, Sunday outings with her son, Dan, and surprise visits from Shirley, Sarah and other family members. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Ruth was a woman of strong faith and her favorite book of the Bible was Psalms. “If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” Psalm 139 v 8-10 Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, John Earl Coots and her son, Paul Stephen Coots. Ruth is survived by her four other children and their spouses, Sarah (Herbert) Bode, Dan (Sara) Coots, Laura (Martin) Kneis, and Shirley (Jerry) Cecil. Over the years she was blessed with 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 12th, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13th, 2015 at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
