Perry C. Aby, Jr. 73, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in Brownsville, Texas. Perry was born on December 20, 1941 in New Underwood, South Dakota to Perry C. Aby, Sr. and Irma Mae (Masek) Aby. He attended New Underwood High School where he graduated in 1959. Perry was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. He was a shrimper in the shrimping industry for 35 years before retiring in 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry C. Aby, Sr. and Irma Mae (Masek) Aby; one brother, Donald L. Aby; and two brothers-in-law, Louise Ewert and Joe Flax. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary A. Aby; his children: Frank L. Aby of Port Isabel, Texas, Jeannie M. Aby (Carlos) Flores of Port Isabel, Texas, June M. (Arnold Salas) Guajardo of San Antonio, Texas, and Perry C. Aby III of Port Isabel, Texas; one brother, Richard (Pam) Aby of Apache, Junction, Arizona; four sisters: Lois Ewert of Rapid City, South Dakota, Shirley Millard of Lead, South Dakota, Evonne Flax of Pierre, South Dakota, and Geraldine Ray Aby of Pierre, South Dakota; eight grandkids: Jasmin L. Guajardo, Julisa M. Rivera, Leslie M. Gonzalez, Tommy L. Rivera, Brianna N. Gonzalez, Steve P. Rivera, Johnny L. Aby, and Jesse L. Aby; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St in Port Isabel. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers: Carlos Flores, Arnold Salas, Rodolfo Garza, Roberto Gonzales, Jr., Tommy Lee Rivera, and Tomas Rivera. Honorary pallbearers are: Roberto Garza.
