We offer our Condolences and blessings upon the family of Evelon, and pray for the repose of her soul. I worked with Evelon for many years; on various committees, at the University of Texas-Brownsville, and many other areas. She was a very kind person, and aggressively sought care and concern for others. She was one of those rare, action oriented persons who was indeed truly concerned about others, most especially those who are unable or incapable of helping themselves; a person whose presence comes along very seldom. She was a shining example of a community heroine, and will be sorely missed.
