San Benito - Jesus R. Hernandez, Sr., 94, passed away Monday, March 5, 2007 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. Jesus R. and Juanita D. Hernandez owned and operated The Rosary Floral & Nursery Flower Shop since 1956. He was a lifetime resident of San Benito and is survived by his daughter, Gloria A. Hernandez of San Benito; three sons, Jesus D. (Adriana) Hernandez of San Benito; Enrique (Gloria) Hernandez of San Benito; and Juan (Yolanda) Hernandez of Waukegan, IL; sisters, Clara Perez of Florida; Petra Cuevas of San Benito; Cruz Cortez of Florida; and brother, Eustacio Hernandez. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Juanita D. Hernandez, his parents Mariano Hernandez and Apolinaria Ramirez Hernandez; sisters, Rita Martinez, Damiana Bocanegra; and brothers, Jacinto Hernandez, Miguel Hernandez, and Hipolito Hernandez. Visitation will be held today, March 8, 2007 from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 9, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito. Interment will follow to San Benito City Cemetery.
