San Benito - Rita G. Ortega, 86, of San Benito, passed away Sunday March 4, 2007 at her residence. Ms. Ortega is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Felipe Ortega, and a grandson, Guillermo Ramirez, Jr. She is survived by 12 children, Raquel Ortega; Albina Lugo; Josefa Brunnel; Gonzalo (Yolanda) Ortega; Maria (Jesus) Lara; Martin (Margarita) Ortega; Juanita (Samuel, Jr.) Alonzo; Ofelia (Francisco) Cantu; Francisca (Guillermo) Ramirez; Maria (Asencion) Banda; Elizabeth (Santos) Garza; Marco A. (Norma) Ortega; 50 grandchildren, 132 great-grandchildren, 32 great-great- grandchildren, 1 brother, Ignacio Garcia; and 5 sisters, Vicenta Garcia, Carmen Garcia, Alifonsa Torres, Natividad Garcia, and Eufrasia Cuevas. Visitations will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Iglesia Evangelica Cristo es la Roca located on Williams Rd. in San Benito. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park.
