El Calavos, TX - Esperanza A. Garcia, 81, peacefully departed this life on December 27, 2006. Esperanza was born August 18, 1925 in Beeville, Texas to Josefina and Luis Aguirre. In July 1947, Esperanza married Romeo Garcia, Sr. and moved to the Rio Grande Valley where she was a life long residence of El Calavos, Texas. She was a devoted and loving wife to Romeo, Sr. who passed away on June 8, 1990. She was a devoted mother to her children and a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren. Esperanza leaves her legacy of love and devotion in the hearts of her family, friends, community and church. Mrs. Garcia is survived by her 4 daughters, Ester and husband Terry Reinmund of Honolulu, Hawaii; Sulema Garcia of Buda, Texas; Celeste Garcia of Channelview, Texas; Beatriz and husband Victor Loera of Pflugerville, Texas; 2 sons, Romeo Jr. and wife Viola Garcia of Cypress, Texas; Abel and wife Guadalupe Garcia of Sealy, Texas; 7 grandchildren, Monica Garcia, Victoria Garcia, Romeo Garcia, III, Amanda Garcia, Xavier Loera, Ilsa Loera, Ilynah Alonzo and extended family members, Maricella Beccerra and Frankie Zuniga.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 31, 2006 from Noon to 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 6:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 1, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at San Ignacio Church. Interment will follow to Garcia Family Cemetery in El Ranchito.
The family extends special thanks to our sister-in-law, Guadalupe Garcia, for taking great care of our mother for the last 5 months. She was an angel sent to us.
