Brownsville, TX: Juan J. Escamilla, 77, passed away September 10, 2010 at Solara Hospital in Brownsville. He is preceded in death by his father, Antonio Escamilla; his mother, Maria Elena Rodriguez Escamilla; a son, Dagoberto Escamilla; and 2 grandchildren, Deyanira Padilla and Cecilio Meza, Jr. Juan is survived by his wife of 59 years, Andrea Gonzalez de Escamilla; his children, Juan Antonio (Martha) Escamilla, Rosa Imelda Escamilla, Jose Luis Escamilla, Juan Jose (Susana) Escamilla, Esteban Escamilla, Lucio (Diana) Escamilla, Libier (Guillermo) Martinez, Carlos (Erika) Escamilla, Jose Manuel Escamilla and Alberto (Janie) Escamilla; a daughter-in-law, Maria de Refugio Escamilla; along with 44grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 12 Noon to 9:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 P.M. and a Holy Rosary to follow at 7:30 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Chapel Service will be held on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Interment will follow to Escamilla Cemetery in El Calaboz. Pallbearers will be Antonio Escamilla, Jr., Dagoberto Escamilla, Jr., Rene Escamilla, Arnold Escamilla, Lucio Escamilla, Jr., Guillermo Martinez, Jr., Eric Escamilla, Jose Manuel Escamilla, Jr., Alberto Escamilla, Jr., Daniel Escamilla, Andrea Margarita Padilla and Yasiriz L. Escamilla. The family would like to extend a Special Thanks to the nurses and staff at Valley Grande Manor in Brownsville; Dr. Joey Ugalino; Dr. Kim Cockins; and to the great staff at Solara Hospital in Brownsville.
