San Benito, TX- Juan L. Alvarez, 73, of San Benito, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Benita Lopez Alvarez; and 2 brothers, Santana Alvarez and Manuel Alvarez. Juan is survived by his loving wife, Irene Alvarez; his two sons, Juan (Lupita) Garcia and Juan Gallardo; his daughters, Maria Ester (David) De la Cruz, Belen (Raul) Limon, Veronica (Joe) Salinas, Camelia (Joey) Gonzalez and Maria Rosario Gallardo; 18 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mica Miranda and Anastacia Rodriguez; and a brother, Manuel Alvarez, Jr. Visitations were held on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Chapel Service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow to San Benito City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raul Limon, Frankie Lucio, Joe Salinas, Rolando Pinon, Jr., Eddie Alvarez, Juan Garcia, Jr., David de la Cruz and Angel Lucio.
