Obituary of Guadalupe Villarreal

Guadalupe Cantu Villarreal, 78, of Port Isabel passed away on Oct. 16, 2006, at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen.
Mrs. Villarreal was a lifetime Port Isabel resident. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, member of Visitants de Cristo, Cristiano de la Iglesia del Mar, Eucharistic minister and a member of the Cursillistas of Port Isabel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Federico and Maria Garza Cantu; three brothers, Juan Cantu Sr., Carlos Cantu and Federico Cantu Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Justo O. Villarreal of Port Isabel; four daughters, Teresa Villarreal, Lupita Mora, Carmen Rosas and Janie Bocanegra; eight sons, Jose Antonio "Nino" Villarreal, Orlando Villarreal, Jorge Villarreal, Juan Villarreal, Justo Villarreal Jr., Mario Villarreal, Armando Villarreal and Jude Villarreal; 29 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel.
Visitation will resume today, Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with funeral Mass to begin at 4 p.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 Longoria St., in Port Isabel. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be her eight sons, Jose Antonio Villarreal, Orlando Villarreal, Jorge Villarreal, Juan Villarreal, Justo Villarreal Jr., Mario Villarreal, Armando Villarreal and Jude Villarreal.
