Harlingen, TX: Reverend Benjamin Ojeda, 73, of Harlingen passed away Friday, July 16, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. Benjamin Ojeda was married to Ramona Ortiz on Dec 29, 1962. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle & friend. Served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard, honorable discharged in the 1963. Before he went into the ministry he loved to fish & hunt. He was a minister for over 30years. In 1977 he went to "El Sendero de la Cruz bible school in Matamoros, Mexico where he graduated in 1978. Following graduation he traveled as an evangelist then later became a pastor in Matamoros, Mexico, Brownfield, TX & Bayard, NE. In 1998 he & his wife founded Entrenamiento de Fe in San Fernando, Tamp. Mexico. He strongly believed that one should share what knowledge they have learned to help enrich & bless the lives of others. He founded Entrenamiento de Fe to honor his father's vision in reaching Mexico for Jesus .He had a deep love & devotion for the people of Mexico and enjoyed spending as much time as he could there. He was a devoted director, teacher, and friend. He loved spending time with the students and encouraging them to be productive Christian leaders in their church & community. There have been over 200 students who have graduated and the school has produced evangelist, pastors, missionaries, worship leaders, youth, men's & women's leaders, and Children church directors. He was diagnosed with renal cancer in October of 2009 and was undergoing treatment in Harlingen, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Jesusa Raquel Leyva Ojeda; his brother, Samuel Ojeda; and his baby brother, Rafael Ojeda. Benjamin is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Ramona Ojeda; his children; Lydia (Ron) Adcock, Benjamin I. (Debbie) Ojeda, Elias J. Ojeda, Rachael M. (Rusty) Hull and Trina M. (Jeffery) Gudgel; 17 grandchildren; a great grandchild; 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2010 from 2 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae Garza Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Faith Pleases God Church, located at 4501 W. Expressway 83 in Harlingen. Interment will be follow to Rio Grande Valley States Veterans Cemetery in Mission , TX .
