Rio Hondo, Texas: Juan M. Ybarra went to be with the Lord on June 21, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his father, Fortino H. Ybarra; and a brother, Victoriano Ybarra. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sherry Ann Ybarra; and his mother, Maria M. Ybarra of San Benito; his children, Linda Ybarra Ponce, Juan M. (Monica) Ybarra Jr., Jose M. (Cecilia) Ybarra and Joseph(Tanya) Ybarra;and his siblings, Martin(Delia), Felix(Connie), Asencion, Jose and Margarita(Don). Mr. Ybarra is also survived by his grandchildren, Anna Liza, Damian, Bianca, Natalie, Javier, Victor, Alizia, Rolando, Fortino, Justice, Inez and Cruz; along with many nieces and nephews. Mr. Ybarra left the valley for a better life and worked in Michigan for 33 years, retiring from General Motors. He returned to ranch life in the Valley in Rio Hondo. He will be greatly missed by all his family. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 24, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday June 25, 2010 at St. Helen's Catholic Church in Rio Hondo. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park.
