San Benito, TX- Maria C. Diaz, 90, of San Benito, TX passed away May 6, 2010 at her residence in San Benito. She was born September 1, 1919 in Rosenberg, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuela and Severiano Cervantez, her infant twins, 4 brothers, 2 sisters. She was devoted mother whom has gone to join her loved ones. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Maria D. (Alberto) Matamoros, Miguel (Lucy) Diaz, Jr., Mario (Petra) Diaz, Bonifacio "Boni" (Gloria) Diaz and Guillermo "Billy" Diaz all of San Benito; Maria Antonia (Dave) Smith of Austin; and Alicia (Ruben) Montenegro of San Benito; 21 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, a great-great grandchild with one on the way; her brother, Eusevio Vega Cervantez; and her nephew, Rene Munoz, whom she raised and loved as her own son; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 9, 2010 from 12 Noon to 9:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Chapel Service will be held on Monday, May 10, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Thomae Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Alberto Matamoros, Jr., Miguel Diaz III, Armando Ramos, Guillermo "B.J." Diaz, Jr., Ruben Montenegro, Jr. and Rene Munoz. The family of Maria C.
