Obituary of Theodore "Ted" Marchan
Please share a memory of Theodore to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Theodore (Ted) Marchan, 75 of Port Isabel passed away on April 14, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ted was born on October 29, 1934. "He was a good looking man."
He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Marchan, Sr. and Emilia Broughton Marchan along with his brothers, Dan Marchan, Jr. and Joe H. Marchan; and a sister Mary "Sister" Rock.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bertha Lydia Gamez Marchan; and his loving children; and many loving grandchildren. He is survived by his brothers, Frank Marchan; and his sisters, Celia and Aida.
Ted was a very charismatic man who believed that all children were innocent and if any child needed a daddy, he was there for them. His life was the sea and it is there where he will eternally rest. Ted was known as being generous to his own detriment. He was always proud to be from Port Isabel and was especially proud of the Port Isabel Tarpons. Ted was the first Port Isabel Tarpon to score a touchdown, however, it took the Tarpons two seasons to score a touchdown. He always bragged how he graduated on the top 10 percent of his class, however, only 8 people graduated that year. His wishes were for all to remember him strong and happy and that "to have no fear, because Marchan is here."
