Port Isabel, TX: Caritina "Kaya" Lopez Torres, 88, passed away on April 5, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville. She is preceded in death by her parents, Genaro and Maria Luisa Juarez-Lopez; her 3 brothers, Salvador Lopez, Cenario Lopez and Arnulfo Lopez; and a sister, Lydia "Conchita" Baldovinos. Kaya is survived by her loving sons, Jose A. (Maria "Lola") Torres, Jesse J. Torres (Maria Socorro Garcia), and Adlolfo "Popo" Ramirez all of Port Isabel;her 4 grandchildren, Jesse Lee Garcia, Antonio J. Torres, Michaela J. Torres and Sara Torres; a great grandchild, Trinity Kayla Torres; her sister, Gloria Lopez; her brother, Genaro Lopez; and several nephews nieces and other relatives. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010 from 12 Noon to 9:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Chapel Service will be held Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Steven Hyde officiating, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Cremation will follow service to Sacred Park Crematorium.
