Raquel C. Ramirez, 52, of Los Fresnos entered into eternal life on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Altagracia Castillo; and a sister Catalina Castillo. She is survived by her husband, Rodolfo Ramirez, Sr.; a son, Rodolfo (Estefana G.) Ramirez, Jr.; four daughters, Mary Ann "Biba" Ramirez, Norma Linda Ramirez, Melissa Ramirez, and Angelica Ramirez; three grandchildren, Seth, Angelina and Kate; three sisters, four brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary recited on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home Chapel in San Benito. Mass of Resurrection will be held Monday, March 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Heavenly Father Catholic Church, 186 Parker St. in Olmito, Texas. Interment will follow to Los Cuates Cemetery in Los Fresnos, Texas. Pallbearers will be Rodolfo Ramirez, Rodolfo Ramirez, Jr., Alfredo Castillo, Alfredo Vega Jr., Jimmy Castillo, Fernando Castillo, Jr. and Alfredo "Boy" Vega, III. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew Ramirez and David Joseph Mendez. Mom, when God saw you were too tired to go on and that there was no hope in healing you, He put his arms around you and said, "Come to me". With teary eyes we saw you leave and although we loved you very much, we couldn't make you stay. A heart of gold stopped beating, hard working hands rested.
