Obituary of Pastor Carlos Rodriguez

Culver City, CA/San Benito, TX- Pastor Carlos A. Rodriguez passed away after a sudden illness on March 4, 2010 at Brotman Medical Center in Culver City, California. He was born on April 15, 1956 and went to school in Harlingen, Texas.
At the age of 13, his family moved to Santa Paula, CA. He attended Isabel Junior High and Santa Paula High School. He graduated from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa where he majored in psychology, with a minor in theology and graduated with honors. He then went to work for the California Youth Authority as a Group Supervisor and was later promoted to Parole Agent.
He retired after 25 years of service. In addition to his job as a Parole Agent, in 1988 he and his wife started a church, Iglesia Calvario, located at 500 Anacapa Drive in Camarillo, CA; Carlos was a pastor at the church until the Lord took him home.
Pastor Carlos is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mercedes Rodriguez, his daughter, Hope (Bernardo) Camacho; his son, Luis Rodriguez; his grandson, Carlitos Camacho; his granddaughter, Rebecca Camacho; his father, Rodolfo Rodriguez of San Benito, TX; his brothers, Ruben (Audrey) Rodriguez of CA; and Ricardo (Stephanie) Rodriguez.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 12 Noon to 9:00 P.M. with a Celebration of his Life and prayer service at 6:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home.
Chapel Service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
