Port Isabel, Texas: Hortencia G. Valdez, 58 of Port Isabel, Texas passed away on July 09, 2006 at her residences in Port Isabel. Mrs. Valdez was lifetime residence of Port Isabel and a member of Our Lady Star of Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. She preceded in death by her 1st husband, Antonio Valdez Sr. Father, Venustiano Garza, Son, Robert Valdez and Brother, Lucio Garza. Visitation was held Tuesday June 11, 2006 from 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady Star of Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. Funeral Mass was held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday July 12, 1006 at Our Lady Star of Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. Interment will follow to Port Isabel City Cemetery. She is survived by her, 2nd Husband, Alfonso Galvan. 3 Daughters, Hortencia (Casi) Barrera, Mary Estella (Felix) Guzman, and Evangelina (Raul) Galvan. 3 Sons, Antonio (Elizabeth) Valdez Jr., Venustiano A. (Elena) Valdez, and Manuel (Judy) Valdez. 22 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. Mother, Guadalupe Dominguez Garza 2 Sisters, Ceclia Dominguez and Ruth Gomez 3 Brothers, Joe Garza, Ruben Garza and Alfredo Garza. Pallbearers will be Rafael Valdez, Venustiano Valdez Jr., Ernesto Nava, Raymond Lucio, Julio Barrerea Jr., and Robert Valdez.
