San Benito, TX- Elia P. Flores, 78, of San Benito, TX, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at her residence in San Benito, TX. Ms. Flores was born to Feliz Puente and Concepcion Nava Puente; she was a devoted fan of the San Benito Greyhounds because of that her favorite color was purple. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso Flores; a daughter, Janie Flores; 2 sons, Gerardo and George Flores, her siblings, Guilibaldo Puente, Edilia Vento, Baldemar Puente and Leovigildo Puente. Elia is survived by her daughter, Dora (Teodoro) Corona; 4 sons, Cesar (Velma) Flores, Javier (Elsa) Flores, Edwin (Alice) Flores and Robert (Gracie) Flores; her siblings, Fransica Hernandez, Beto Puente, Armando Puente, Hector Puente and Juan Puente; 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2010 from 12:00 P.M to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Committal Service will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas. Pallbearer will be Alfonso Flores, Gerardo Flores, Jr., Michael Corona, Vito Ibarra III, Cesar Flores, Jr., George Luis, Jr., Robert Flores, Jr. and Cristopher Flores; honorary pallbearers will be Cesar Flores, Javier Flores, Edwin Flores and Robert Flores.
