San Benito, TX- Jesus Salazar Aguirre, 90, of San Benito, TX passed away December 26, 2009 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frutoso and Luisa Aguirre Salazar; a brother, Samuel Salazar; and a great grandchild, Carolina Cardenas.
Jesus is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Idolina Salazar Aguirre; his children, Sonia S. (Ricardo) Diaz, Lucila (Mauro) Rosales, Armando (Barbara) Salazar, Arturo Salazar, Robert (Rosalinda) Salazar, Arnold (Elena) Salazar and Alvaro (Esmeralda) Salazar; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; also 2 brothers, Alfredo Salazar and Pedro Salazar; 4 sisters, Josefina Salazar, Maria Refugio Salazar, Herminia S. Ricon and Concepcion S. Losoya.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be greatly missed. Jesus instilled honesty, integrity, dedication and hard work to his family. When he retired from CPL, he was recognized for his 42 years of service. At the time of his retirement he had worked with the company the longest, for this reason he was honored with a special celebration by CPL.
Visitations were held on Monday, December 28, 2009 from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home.
Mass of Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Committal Service followed to Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Armando Salazar, Roberto Salazar, Arnold Salazar, Alvaro Salazar, Jesus Roberto Salazar and Fred Garza.
