Our dearly beloved mother, Jesusa Zamora Compean, made her passage to eternal life surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 19, 2009 in Port Isabel. She was 72 years old. She was born in Brownsville, Texas on September 11, 1937, one of twelve children to the late Raul S. Zamora and Maria Flores Zamora. In 1958 she married our father, Jesus M. Compean and raised our family in Port Isabel, Texas. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by: Her father, Raul S. Zamora; Her mother, Maria Flores Zamora; Her infant brother, Everardo Zamora; Her Grandson, Judas Compean; Paternal Grandmother, Jesusa Zamora; and Maternal Grandmother, Rita De La Portilla Salinas; She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Jesus Compean; Her loving children, Janie Nemeth (Steve), Nohemi Muth (Jim), Ida Holland (Billy), Sara Galvan (Lawrence) and Jesus Compean (Lisa); her brothers and sisters, Raul Zamora, Jr., Mary Lou Almazan, Dora Mata, Juan Jose Zamora, Rosa Chavez, Blanca Garcia, Esther Castañeda, Linda Rendon, Horacio Zamora and Sandra Zayas. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends who she dearly loved. Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 22, 2009 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito and will continue from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church located at 705 S. Longoria St., Port Isabel, Texas. The Mass of Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Father Gerry Barrett officiating. Burial will follow to the Port Isabel City Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers are her grandsons Nicolas Nemeth, James and Iaian Muth, Michael and Jonathan Holland, Jesus and Raul Galvan, and Jesus and Julio Compean.
