Harlingen, TX. - Louise Scanlon Carver, 86, of Harlingen, TX passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Golden Palms in Harlingen, TX. Louise was the oldest of 5 children born to Joseph and Ellen (McGillivray) Scanlon in Quincy, MA. She graduated from Woodward School for the girls in 1943. She then graduated from Quincy City Hospital and passed her requirements to become a registered nurse. She entered the United States Nurse Corps and retired after a distinguished service of 20 years. She was the beloved wife of Donald J. Carver and sister of Barbara Kane of Stockton, California, Eleanor Hayden of Lyron, MA. And Joseph Scanlon of East Longmeadow, MA. She was preceded by Joan Scanlon of Quincy, MA. Visitation will be held from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church in San Benito. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park. Military honors will be conducted at graveside. Words of comfort may be sent to the family of Louise Scanlon Carver at www.thomaegarza.com.
