Port Isabel, Texas- Olga C. Martinez, 72, of Port Isabel, TX passed away Monday, November 9, 2009 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jorge and Maria Navares Canales; 4 sons, Jorge Martinez, Alejandro Martinez III, Hesiquio Martinez and Alex "El Indio" Martinez; and a daughter, Christina Martinez. Olga is survived by her loving husband, Alejandro "Canin" Martinez, Jr.; her 3 sons, Carlos Martinez, Samuel Martinez and Arnulfo Martinez; 3 daughters, Hermelinda Martinez, Olga Martinez and Alta Gracia Martinez; 22 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; a sister, Josefina Canales; and a brother, Santos Canales. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito and will continue from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church located at 705 S. Longoria St., in Port Isabel. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Father Gerry Barrett officiating.
