Obituary of Juanita Oviedo

San Benito, TX- Juanita Oviedo was received in heaven into the arms of our Lord Jesus on August 25, 2009 after a lengthy cancer illness.
She was married for 44 years to her one and only love, Margarito Oviedo. She had 3 beloved daughters, Angie Oviedo-Ochoa, Lucy Ramirez and Vanessa S. Oviedo; her sons in law, Jose Ochoa and Gilbert Ramirez and his son, Arnie Ramirez whom she cherished; and her granddaughter, Summer M. Ochoa - the joy of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fernando and Rosa Sanchez; and her brothers, Manuel Sanchez, Ramiro Sanchez and Guadalupe Sanchez.
Juanita had 11 brothers and sisters, Jesus (Tere) Sanchez, Fred (Janie) Sanchez, Nick (Febe) Sanchez (Adan Sanchez), Fina (+Bernando) Meza, Elvira Larra, Rosie Barrientos, and Martha (Ray) Saldana.
Juanita lived all of her life in San Benito; she worked for 17 years at APC Home Health of Harlingen and was a faithful parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church; her favorite past times included gardening, baking and cooking. For family and friends she enjoyed hosting Christmas Posadas, Sunday morning breakfasts and holiday dinners, but she especially enjoyed having tea parties for her granddaughter and nieces. Juanita was a faithful servant of God with a beautiful spirit and we are fortunate to have been blessed with a lifetime of heart filled memories.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 from 12 Noon to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Father Sam of St. Theresa Catholic Church will be officiating. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
Pallbearers will be Nick Sanchez, Jr., Eric Barrientos, Andy Larra, Angel Castro, Jr., AJ Arteaga (Saldana) and Arnie Ramirez.
