Port Isabel, TX- Marcelina B. "Chelin" Martinez, 67 entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 16, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX.
Chelin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She worked as a teacher's aide for Esperanza Garza Head Start of Port Isabel.
She is preceded in death by her loving daughters, Yvonne M. Aggi, Gregoria M. Ochoa and Jessica M. Ramirez; Her parents, Timoteo and Rebecca Garza Barrientez; her 2 sisters, Ernestina Barrientez and Yolanda B. Carrizales; and her brother, Timoteo Barrientez Jr.
In her loving memories, her husband of 48 years, Gregorio Z. Martinez, was left to cherish. Along with him, are her loving daughters, Becky Martinez, Marisa Martinez and Erica (Concepcion) Camarillo all of Port Isabel; 10 Grandchildren; Sister, Josephina (Guadalupe) Ramirez; and a Brother, Cecilio (Pola) Barrientez Sr. and other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito and will continue from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St. in Port Isabel.
Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Monsignor Patrick Wells officiating. Cremation will follow to Sacred Park Crematorium accorded to her wishes.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Marco Colorado, Domingo Jaramillo, Santiago Ochoa IV, Concepcion Camarillo, Julio Cesar Ramirez and Faustino Camacho III.
