Port Isabel, TX. - Salvador "Chava" Martinez, 62, of Port Isabel, TXwent to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 12, at his residence in Port Isabel, TX. He is preceded in death by his 1st wife, Ofelia Martinez; a daughter, Ana Laura Martinez; his parents, Celso and Magdalena Martinez; and a brother, Arnulfo Martinez. He is survived by his 2nd wife, Maria de Jesus Orduna; children, Raymundo (Marisela) Martinez, Marta Martinez, Yolanda (Jose) Gonzalez, Maria Ignacia (Raul) Martinez, Jose (Sandy) Martinez, Arturo (Margaret) Martinez, and Abel (Brenda) Martinez; seven brothers, Cresencio (Maria) Martinez, Constancio (Lucy) Martinez, Orlando Martinez, Rodolfo (Minerva) Martinez, Celso (Rosa) Martinez, Hector (Sylvia) Martinez, and Corenlio (Susana) Martinez; six sisters, Irma (Manuel) Rivera, Elvia (Pat) Torres, Nina (Albert) Alvarado, Nenie Martinez, Hilda Martinez, and Elsa Alvarez; 15 grandchildren; 1 great - grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 from 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home and will continue from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St. in Port Isabel. A Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow to Port Isabel City Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Cresencio Martinez, Constancio Martinez, Celso Martinez, Hector Martinez, Cornelio Martinez, Jose Martinez, Arturo Martinez, and Abel Martinez.
