Jerry was my first cousin. He and his two brothers grew up with me and my brother. I have so many fond memories of Jerry and our life as children growing up. Knowing that Jerry is in a better place now is a comfort for all of us who loved him. May GOD Bless him and his family.
Growing up with Mr. Jerry Burch’s family provided me with the experience that served as a strong foundation to guide me through life. Of the memories that stay with me is that Mr. Burch served in the Armed Forces and like today’s service personnel sometimes he had to leave his family behind when his call to duty was to deploy. Being a military family the Burchs quite often had to move whenever they were reassigned but I remember that they always came back to our community in Laguna Heights and when they returned the neighborhood families were glad that they were back. Mr. Burch treated me like a son and now I feel the loss that his family is experiencing. I feel that Mr. Burch is again called to duty and even though he is not with us physically his presence is with us now as he was in the past. To have experienced childhood and adult life with his family serves as bond between us and Mr. Burch will not be forgotten but will reside in my memory and in my heart. Heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Jerry Burch family. Juan M. Gomez
