Obituary of Juan Jose Guadalupe Garza

San Benito, TX- Juan Jose Guadalupe Garza, 68, of San Benito, passed away Sunday morning at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Lupe was born in August 1940 in Montemorelos, Mexico to David and Petra Garza. The Garza's migrated to San Benito, Texas where Lupe lived his entire life. Lupe and his siblings lived a happy childhood, on Gamble Rd., often playing with sticks and stones by the canal.
In the early 70's, Lupe met the love of his life, Felicitas Castro. He immediately knew that she was his soul mate and made her his wife. Together they had a beautiful baby girl, Irene and became the perfect little family he always wanted. Lupe worked diligently to support his little family. He dedicated 40 years of his life to the Cameron County Irrigation District No.2. He was extremely proud of this accomplishment.
Many years later, his four grandchildren were born. He loved and adored his grandkids; they brought great joy to his life. Lupe was a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, David and Petra Garza.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Felicitas Castro Garza; his daughter, Irene (Albertico) Guzman; four grandchildren, Ailina Jamie, Ray Anthony, Justin Caleb and Karen Yadira; four sisters, Sofia Garza, Maria Antonia (+Rudolfo) DeLeon, Julia (+Urbano) Lopez and Juanita(Russell) Totora; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito.
A Chapel Service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
Pallbearers will be Rudy Villafranco, Victor DeLeon, Jr., Ricky DeLeon, John Castro, Juan Jose Castro and Albertico Guzman. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Ray Anthony Torres and Justin Caleb Guzman.
