San Benito, TX- Samuel Tamayo, Jr., 25, of San Benito went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 surrounded by his family at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. Samuel was a native and resident of San Benito. He graduated from South Texas High School for Health Professions - Med High in 2002. "He was the star of our family and will be dearly missed" Samuel, Jr. is survived by his loving parents, Samuel and Andrea Tamayo; a brother, Andrew Tamayo; a sister, Shannon Leeann Tamayo; his maternal grandparents, Benito and Andrea Izaguirre; his paternal grandparents, Abran and Lucy Tamayo; and his spiritual father, Albert Tamayo; and other relatives. Visitations were held on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Cremation will follow.
