San Benito - Felix G. Gonzales, 77, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. He was born in San Benito, Texas on June 28, 1929. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonardo and Marcela Gonzales; son: David Gonzales, 2 sisters: Juanita Arajo, Aurora Gonzales, 1 brother: Daniel Gonzales. "Mr. Felix", as he was affectionately referred to by his co-workers at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home, touched the lives of many people in the community. He started his career with Diamond Shamrock and worked many years as an area supervisor before leaving that position to work with Thomae-Garza Funeral Home and the Knights of Columbus Hall in San Benito. He was always willing to extend a helping hand. He will be missed by all that loved and knew him. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Teresa Gonzales, children: Yolanda (Pedro) Galvan, Lucinda Gonzales, Felix (Sofia) Gonzales, Robert (Cristina) Gonzales, Irene (Johnny) Saldivar, Anna Lee Gonzales, Della Mae Galvan, 16 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grand children. He is also survived by his brothers: Tomas Trevino, Ramon (Irma) Gonzales, Gonzalo (Tammy) Gonzales and his sister Elidia Ramos. Visitation will be held at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home on Sunday, June 10, 2007 beginning at 12:00 noon with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, June 11, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Eddie Galvan, Michael Galvan, Pedro Galvan, Jr., David Ryan Gonzales, Danny Gonzales, Juan David Saldivar, Eddie Galvan, Jr. and Derek John Soto.
