El Ranchito, TX- Ruben Avalos, 47, passed away Monday, May 4, 2009 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX.
Mr. Avalos is preceded in death by his mother, Amelia L. Avalos; 3 sisters, Guadalupe Avalos Sierra, Carmen Avalos and Alicia Avalos; 2 brothers, Jesus Avalos and Reynaldo Avalos.
Ruben is survived by his loving wife, Odilia Avalos; his children, Ruben (Cynthia) Avalos, Jr., Monica (Alejandro) Quintero, Roberto Avalos and Rolando Avalos; his granddaughter, Alyssa N. Avalos; his father, Hermenejildo Avalos; 2 brothers, Hermenejildo Avalos, Jr. and Eduardo Avalos; and 2 sisters, Consuelo Contreras and Yolanda Rodriguez.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 from 12 Noon to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in El Ranchito. Interment will follow to Avalos Cemetery in El Ranchito.
Pallbearers will be Gilberto Sierra, Armando Rodriguez, Pedro Rodriguez, Ramiro Contreras, Manuel Avalos, Hector Avalos, Juan Contreras and Hermenejildo Avalos III.
