Harlingen, TX - Charles Leon Turnbough, 61, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. Charles graduated from St. Mary's in St. Louis. MO; He served in the U.S. Navy. He was part of the Navy Special Forces and served in 2 tours in Vietnam before being Honorably Discharged. Charles received his B.S. from the University of Pan-Am in Edinburg and was employed with the Raymondville ISD as a 7th grade Science teacher. He was previously employed with San Benito CISD, Harlingen CISD, Weslaco ISD and Los Fresnos CISD. Charles is survived by his wife, Angie Turnbough of Harlingen; his sons, Dustin McDaniel Turnbough of Ft. Bragg, NC; and Brian McDaniel Turnbough of Virginia Beach, VA; a grandson, Charles McDaniel Turnbough; his sister, Connie Turnbough Poteet; and 3 brothers, Shelby Turnbough, Wendall Turnbough and Randall Turnbough; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church located at 566 N. Reagan St. in San Benito; with Rev. Dr. John Teer officiating.
